Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula was involved in a domestic dispute with his wife, Ann Waceke Ngugi, in February, following which he reported the matter to Langata Police station.
The cause of the dispute is not publicly known, but according to the original account, Senator Wetangula felt betrayed upon learning from his close allies that his wife frequently visited Deputy President William Ruto’s office.
Ann Waceke Ngugi, who is from Nyeri, was said to be often seen in Ruto’s office, which allegedly caused Wetangula significant concern. It was also claimed that she socialized with Jubilee advisors who received information about Wetangula’s political plans and the broader CORD strategy.
When confronted about the issue, Ann allegedly became violent and assaulted Wetangula.
