The National Super Alliance is expected to announce its official presidential candidate before the end of the month.
Two parties within the coalition, the Kenya National Congress (KNC) and the Citizens Convention Party (CCP), have pledged their support for Raila Odinga as the preferred candidate to run against Uhuru Kenyatta.
According to party leaders, only one candidate is well-suited to challenge President Kenyatta.
Raila Odinga, the CORD leader, has received support from KNC and CCP, with both parties identifying him as the most ideal flag bearer ahead of Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi, and Moses Wetangula.
South Mugirango MP Manson Nyamweya, who is also the leader of KNC, stated that his party supports NASA with a preference for ODM leader Raila Odinga as its flag bearer, as quoted by Nation.
Both KNC and CCP have fielded candidates for other elective seats but have dedicated the presidential seat to Raila Odinga.
However, Nyamweya maintained that they are willing to support whoever is chosen by the coalition as the most viable candidate to challenge Jubilee.
We will, however, back whoever will be fronted as the NASA Presidential candidate should the majority decide otherwise.
Despite Odinga being considered the favorite to clinch the ticket, his counterparts Mudavadi, Kalonzo, and Senator Moses Wetangula still believe they have a chance, although they have all pledged to support whoever is selected.
