A serious road accident occurred along the Nakuru-Eldoret highway at the Salgaa black spot.
The accident involved three lorries, a saloon car, and a 14-seater matatu.
According to reports, one person died in the collision, and several others sustained injuries.
One of the lorries was carrying sugar, and residents were seen scrambling for loot.
The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has been monitoring the area with speed patrol vehicles to reduce the number of accidents.
In a similar incident last year, a grisly accident at the Salgaa black spot left two people dead and scores injured.
The area police reported that the previous accident involved a saloon car, a passenger bus, and a heavy commercial truck.
