Ngina Kenyatta, the daughter of President Uhuru Kenyatta and First Lady Margaret, attended a high-profile meeting on climate change at Le Bourget in Paris, France, alongside her father.

This development comes barely a week after she faced criticism for wearing skinny jeans to welcome Pope Francis.

The meeting was part of the COP21 conference, where Kenya sent a large delegation despite reports of austerity measures ordered by the National Treasury to address the country's budget deficit.

Pictures of Ngina inside the conference hall were posted on President Kenyatta's official Twitter account, prompting some Kenyans on Twitter to ask questions about her presence at the event.

Jacob Juma tweeted,

Others, including Eric and Victoria Odipo, also expressed their views, with Eric saying,

@CollinceBey I didn’t know that Ngina is an environmentalist

and Victoria stating,

Grooming Ngina to be a government official??? Kenya is broke.

In response, some users defended the First Family, with JudyAlyce King' wondering,

@kabetes @LeonLidigu is she less of a human being to represent the country just because she is the President’s daughter???

and Mcben G Muriithi saying,

@kabetes @LeonLidigu boss Kwani wewe hulipa tax Ngapi urudishiwe? Unasahau her grandfather is in the money in your pocket if u have any.
