Talented Kenyan comedian, radio and TV show host Jalang’o has spoken out about the drama between gospel artists Bahati and Willy Paul.
Jalang’o expressed his disappointment with gospel artists who are now claiming that Bahati should have sought their advice before publicly exposing Willy Paul's actions. According to Jalang’o, the issues between Bahati and Willy Paul were well-known in the gospel industry, and their differences first became public at the Sportpesa Festival due to ego issues.
"Everyone saw this coming. They always have issues during big concerts like the SportPesa festival where neither of them wanted to perform due to ego issues. How can other gospel artistes pretend to help solve the matter now?"
Some leading gospel artists have criticized Bahati for sharing his feelings online before seeking their advice. Legendary gospel singer Rufftone stated:
"We would have discussed it had Bahati come to us before posting but since we all learnt about it online, we can only fix the issue moving forward. Bahati and Willy and other artistes play a major role in Kenya’s gospel industry and they should understand that the world is watching them"
It has been reported that Bahati had sought advice from a few individuals after discovering that Willy Paul had released the song Vigelegele on the same day Bahati released his single Lover, contrary to their agreement.
