Civil servants in the Office of the Deputy President William Ruto are speaking out against what they describe as poor management by Principal Administrative Secretary Daniel Wambura.
According to the officers, Wambura's management style has led to inefficiencies and discomfort among staff members, who claim they are unable to enjoy their work and allowances, unlike their counterparts in State House.

The officers allege that Wambura fabricated accusations against Maryanne Keitany, a former official in the office, due to his own discomfort with her presence. They claim Wambura wrote a letter to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission accusing Keitany of mismanaging funds.
It is also alleged that Wambura joined forces with former Legal Office official Jasper Mbiuki to accuse Keitany of pocketing Sh200 million meant to support a motion to remove Ann Waiguru, the Devolution Minister.

A senior officer in the Deputy President's office stated that Ruto is aware of the issues with Wambura and that it is only a matter of time before he is removed from the office. The officers are calling for Wambura's transfer, citing his alleged mismanagement and abuse of power.
The officers praise Secretary Administration Shadrack Mwadime as a professional who could replace Wambura. They also warn that returning Maryanne Keitany as Chief of Staff while retaining Wambura would be chaotic and may lead to mass transfers out of the office.
One officer described Wambura as someone who "pretends to be someone who is heavily religious but a very bad man."
A memorandum has been presented to the Deputy President outlining the operational issues in his office, and departmental heads have vowed not to rest until Wambura is transferred or they are moved to other ministries.
