Four Traders Killed in Naivasha Lorry Accident

On July 24, 2019, a devastating accident occurred at the Soko Mjinga market along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway, claiming the lives of four traders and leaving many others injured.

The accident happened at around 6am near Flyover trading center in Magumu, Nyandurua County, after the driver of the lorry lost control, hitting two vehicles and the traders.

According to eyewitnesses, the lorry first collided with a matatu and a personal car before veering off the road and hitting the traders.

Naivasha OCPD Samuel Waweru confirmed the incident, stating that the body of the fourth victim had been collected and taken to Naivasha mortuary.

Police launched a manhunt for the driver, who fled the scene after the accident.
