Centum Investment has announced a Sh550 million gratuity payout, with each employee set to receive approximately Sh6.1 million in bonuses this year.
Last year, the company set aside Sh1 billion for 90 employees, resulting in roughly Sh11 million each. This year’s bonus payout has been halved.
According to Centum CEO James Mworia, bonuses are paid out over three years, dependent on the company’s continued performance and the relevant staff remaining within the group. Mworia stated that the company uses bonuses as a retention tool and to manage future performance.
The announcement came after the company reported a 25.3 per cent growth in net profit for the financial year ended March 31. Centum invests in various sectors, including power, real estate, financial services, and health.
