A confidential document from the Jubilee Party has been leaked, revealing plans to overhaul the 2010 constitution regarding the presidency if re-elected.
The document, titled 'The Political Situation', outlines a multi-pronged re-election strategy that includes splitting the presidency by creating two or three deputy presidents, a prime minister, and selecting cabinet secretaries from parliamentarians.
According to the strategy, 'The more positions, the more the government is likely to be representative and can genuinely promise inclusivity. The government can involve and agree with CORD on the possibility of amending the constitution to effect the proposed structure of the presidency,' as quoted on Sunday Nation.
This move aims to make the presidency more inclusive and attractive to other political parties for a potential coalition.

Leader of Majority Aden Duale stated that the document is highly classified and should not have been leaked to the media.
The opposition alliance, National Super Alliance (NASA), had previously proposed similar changes, which were criticized by Jubilee.
NASA plans to introduce a new office, the Office of Chief Minister, for one of the co-leaders, and offer Senate or National Assembly Majority leader positions to the two co-principals who lose the presidential nomination race.
