Wasafi Records Expands Amidst Controversy

July 24, 2019, marked a significant day for Diamond Platnumz's record label, Wasafi Records, as the label signed two new artists. This move comes amidst allegations of mistreatment against the label and its founder.

Over the weekend, a high-ranking manager at WCB, a rival label, left the company citing mistreatment. Artists who have parted ways with Wasafi Records have also accused the label of mismanagement and disrespect.

Despite these allegations, Diamond Platnumz remains committed to his record label. In a recent interview, he confirmed the signing of two new artists, a male and a female, but declined to disclose their names or the date of their unveiling.

Platnumz expressed his excitement about the new additions to his label, stating that he is confident that the public will love them. However, he also acknowledged that the timing of the unveiling may not be ideal, given the attention surrounding the Wasafi Festival 2019.

Platnumz took to social media to announce the signing of the new artists, tweeting, 'Signed the new artist today…..!!! I can’t wait for the world, to hear another WCB_Wasafi voice from the street.'

He also shared his thoughts on the Wasafi Festival, stating that it has already caught the attention of many and that unveiling the new signees at this time may not be a good idea.

Platnumz's comments on the Wasafi Festival were as follows: 'Unajua bwana mimi sikufichi sisi watu wa kimasikini na baraka twasipata tukisaidiana tukishikana mikono wenyewe kwa wenywe.
