A Nairobi court has ordered police to expedite the investigation into the murder of Kabete MP George Muchai and file charges against the suspects within three days, or risk having them released on bond.
During a hearing on March 10, 2015, Milimani Principal Magistrate Joseph Karanja expressed concern that the three suspects - Erick Muyera, Raphael Kimani, Jane Wanjiru, and Simon Gichamba - had been detained for more than 25 days without charges being filed.
Magistrate Karanja noted that further detention without charges would infringe upon the suspects' rights.
