On March 16, 2003, the Kenyan music industry lost one of its most promising stars, Issah Mmari, popularly known as E-Sir, in a road accident along the Nakuru-Nairobi highway.
In commemoration of the 12th anniversary of his death, award-winning singer Nameless, who survived the accident, took to social media to eulogize the fallen hero.
Nameless, who had collaborated with E-Sir on the hit tracks Maisha and Boomba Train, reflected on what could have been if E-Sir were still alive. He wrote on his Facebook page:
I can't help but wonder what could have been!! I can't help but wonder what kind of woman you would have chosen as a wife. I can't help but wonder what kind of music you would be doing now.... I can't help but wonder how many kids you would have by now! Can't help but wonder which Kenyan artists you would admire, I can't help but wonder how many tours we would have done together and if we would have done one more collabo track for the fans!! I CAN'T HELP BUT WONDER!! I MISS YOU BRO!! YOUR MUSIC LIVES!! We will forever celebrate you E-SIR. 12 years today since you left us.
