A reported plane crash into the Indian Ocean prompted increased security measures along Amani Tiwi Beach on Saturday morning. Security officials, led by Kwale County acting police Commander Joseph Omijah, visited the area following reports of the incident.
Witnesses, including locals and tourists at Amani Tiwi Beach, described seeing two Kenya Navy ships patrolling the area. According to Amos Juma, "We didn’t see any object falling into the sea, but we have seen two naval ships patrolling in the sea. Maybe they are on a searching mission."
The alleged crash was said to have occurred approximately 15 miles off the coast of Amani Tiwi Beach in the Indian Ocean. However, Commander Omijah stated that there was no evidence to support the claims of a plane crash, saying, "There is nothing at all; we have not seen the said plane that has crashed."
