A dispute has emerged between Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua and the organizers of the Macha New Year Festival. The event organizers accuse the county government of misconduct, claiming that their equipment was damaged and the event was disrupted.
One of the event organizers, @Xtiandela, stated on Twitter,
They messed up our stage and threw us here...they messed up the whole thing! Am NEVER working with Macha again!
The organizers also alleged that the county government's actions led to the event being a flop, with artists performing to an empty venue.
Response from Dr. Alfred Mutua ¶
In response to these allegations, Dr. Alfred Mutua blamed Carlos, the Macha Event organizer, for allegedly conning artists out of approximately Ksh 1 million.
The conflicting accounts have raised questions about the events surrounding the festival and who is responsible for its reported failure.
