Former US President Barack Obama and ex-First Lady Michelle Obama have been spotted leaving the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC, appearing unperturbed by President Donald Trump's recent wire-tapping claims.
Trump has made unsubstantiated claims that his predecessor, Barack Obama, wire-tapped his phones before the 2016 general elections. However, the Obamas seem to be ignoring Trump and continuing their retirement in peace.
Response to Trump's Claims ¶
Obama's intelligence chief has stated that no such action was taken, to the best of his knowledge. James Comey, director of the FBI, has also reportedly asked the Justice Department to publicly denounce Trump's accusations.
Some Republican leaders are considering Trump's request for assistance with the investigation, but political analysts argue that this could come with high risks for the president if the House and Senate intelligence committees uncover more damaging information about Trump and his associates.
