On July 24, 2019, Aston Villa made a significant move in the transfer market by signing Egyptian midfielder Mahmoud Hassan 'Trezeguet' from Turkish side Kasimpasa.
Trezeguet, 24, had a remarkable season with Kasimpasa in the 2018-19 campaign, scoring 25 goals and providing 18 assists in 71 games.
According to reports, both Trezeguet and Kasimpasa had agreed on the transfer amount with Aston Villa.
Before joining Aston Villa, Trezeguet had impressed in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt, scoring one goal and providing one assist in four games.
Several top clubs, including Sampdoria, Franca Asse Etienne, Watford, and Everton, had shown interest in signing the former Al Ahly midfielder.
