A council of elders from the Kikuyu community has announced that the late Nyeri Governor Nderitu Gachagua will be given a traditional Kikuyu burial, in accordance with Kikuyu culture.
According to the elders, Gachagua was a long-standing member of the council and deserves a befitting elder's burial. Funeral preparations are underway at his rural home in Mathira, with mourners arriving in large numbers.
