Ruth Kamande, the 2016 Miss Lang'ata, led fellow inmates in a fashion catwalk at the prison to celebrate Valentine's Day.

The celebration was organised by a group of Kenyans, including gospel artiste Vicky Kitonga, jazz musician Nique Baraka, and Diana Kamande.

The inmates shared cake, received roses and gifts from the organisers and attendees. Kamande, who is a prisoner at Lang'ata Women's Prison, strutted the catwalk in a short red dress and black heels.

Other inmates joined in the parade, holding roses in their beautiful outfits. The event also coincided with Kitonga's birthday, and the inmates shared her birthday cake.

The recovered account cited reporting by Tuko.
