Kethi Kilonzo has made an emotional appeal to President Uhuru Kenyatta to help uncover the cause of her father's death. In a heartfelt message, she drew parallels between her father and the President's, highlighting their shared qualities of being self-made, witty, courageous, and outspoken.

She recalled her father's humble beginnings, born in a small village, and his rise to becoming a prominent figure in Kenyan politics. Kethi's father was elected as the first Senator of Makueni County, despite spending only approximately Sh1.3 million on his campaign. He died on April 26, 2013, with pathologists concluding that a toxin caused his death by stopping his blood clotting mechanism.

Circumstances of Death

The circumstances of his death were tragic, with Kethi describing how her father stumbled to his bathroom and vomited his last meal before collapsing onto his bed. The post-mortem examination was compromised due to posthumous bleeding, making it impossible to harvest his brain and other tissues for testing. The toxicology report from London was unable to identify the toxin, and Kethi's father was left unrecognizable after the post-mortem.

Kethi expressed her anguish over the handling of her father's death and the subsequent court case regarding the succession of his properties. She questioned the ability of the police to bring justice to her family and others who have suffered similar tragedies, highlighting the need for accountability and the rule of law.

Call to Action

Kethi urged President Kenyatta to take action, stating that it is not too late to right the wrongs and wield the full force of the law against those responsible for her father's death. She emphasized the importance of standing on the right side of history and ensuring that justice is served.
