On July 23, 2019, Kenya's Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich and Principal Secretary Kamau Thugge appeared in a Milimani court in Nairobi, where they were released on bail in a dams case.
According to the court, Rotich and Thugge were required to pay a Ksh50 million ($500,000) bond with surety or cash bail of Ksh15 million each.
They were among more than 10 others charged with multiple counts, including abuse of office, conspiracy to commit an economic crime, conferring a benefit, and approving payment contrary to the law.
Rotich and Thugge denied the charges.
