Nyanza Leaders Seek Prominent Roles in ODM Ahead of Party Elections

A meeting of around 20 Luo elected leaders at Lillian Towers in Nairobi on Thursday evening resulted in a resolution to reserve key positions in the ODM party for Nyanza representatives.

The leaders agreed that the post of Secretary General should be reserved for either Siaya Senator James Orengo or Kisumu Central MP Ken Obura. Additionally, they decided that the position of ODM vice-chair should be kept for Homa Bay senator Otieno Kajwang.

The meeting also addressed the potential role of Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero, resolving that he should not receive any senior position in the party.
