Makongeni Building Collapse Leaves 7 Injured, Others Trapped

A five-storey building in Makongeni collapsed at approximately 3 a.m., according to witnesses who stated that the building was shaking before it came down. The building, reportedly not certified by the County government of Nairobi, has left 7 people injured and an unknown number trapped. Rescue operations are currently underway.

Witnesses, as reported by Citizen TV, had previously been warned about the potential collapse of the building but had nowhere else to go, forcing them to continue occupying the unsafe structure.
