Social media platforms are known for their diverse user base, with people from various backgrounds, morals, and upbringings. This diversity can be both exciting and unpredictable.

A recent example of this unpredictability is the #jipeshuguli hashtag on Twitter. The hashtag, started by COFEK, Kenya (@ConsumersKenya), was intended to spark discussions about what Kenyans would do if President Uhuru rejects the Interest Rates Bill.

However, instead of serious discussions, the hashtag was flooded with funny and sarcastic tweets. COFEK, Kenya tweeted, ' The #jipeshuguli ought to be about knowing what Kenyans will do #IfUhuruRejectsInterestRatesBill ' in an attempt to refocus the conversation.

It appears that many users were not interested in discussing politics or economics, especially over the weekend. As a result, they chose to tweet about other aspects of life, hijacking the original purpose of the hashtag. Some users even joked about being too preoccupied with their own activities, using the phrase ' wamejipa shuguli '.
