National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Musalia Mudavadi has responded to criticism from Deputy President William Ruto, who accused NASA leaders of being power-hungry.
Ruto made the comments during a tour of Kilifi county on February 22, stating that while NASA leaders were busy dividing power, the ruling party would continue with its development agenda.
Mudavadi described Ruto's remarks as ridiculous, saying that politics is about seeking power and being in a position of power for a certain period.
In an interview with NTV on February 22, Mudavadi questioned why Ruto was criticizing the pursuit of power while enjoying the benefits of being in power with the Jubilee Party.
Mudavadi suggested that if Ruto did not want power, he should resign and become a farmer.
Earlier on February 22, NASA leaders signed a power-sharing deal, which outlined how the alliance would distribute power among its members if they won the upcoming election.
The alliance is set to hold its first rally in Eldoret town, a stronghold of the Deputy President, on February 25.
