A woman from the Yazidi-Kurdish minority has been reported to have shot and killed a senior Islamic State commander, Abu Anas, near the city of Mosul in Iraq.
According to the original account, the militant leader had forced the woman into slavery and later gave her to his followers.
The incident occurred on a Saturday, and the commander's body was found lying in a pool of blood.
The Yazidi-Kurdish minority is predominantly found in Syria and Iraq, and its members are known to oppose the activities of terrorist groups like ISIS.
