Erica Kakile, a doctor at a public hospital and one of the striking doctors, has challenged President Uhuru Kenyatta in a Facebook post. Kakile dared the president to follow through on his threats and sack doctors, arguing that instead of addressing corruption, the president is targeting doctors fighting for their rights.
Kakile expressed her lack of fear over potential job loss, stating that President Kenyatta, who has not experienced the struggles of ordinary Kenyans, has no right to threaten doctors advocating for their rights. According to Kakile, the president oversees corruption while leaving many Kenyans to suffer.
Meanwhile, the government plans to recruit doctors from India, Uganda, and Cuba to replace the striking medical professionals.
