Former President Mwai Kibaki testified in a Nyeri court regarding a plot of land he co-owns with five other individuals.
Kibaki appeared before Judge Anthony Ombwayo and underwent cross-examination for over an hour, answering questions about the founding of Mathingira Wholesalers Ltd in the 1970s.
When asked by the plaintiffs' lawyer, Lucy Mwai, if his brother Samuel Githinji had sold some shares, Kibaki declined to respond, stating,
I cannot speak on behalf of somebody who is alive and mature. He is here and will speak for himself.
