Majority Leader Aden Duale has responded to Opposition leader Raila Odinga's statement that he helped Duale's political career. Duale claims that he actually helped finance Raila's 2007 presidential campaigns, stating that he gave Raila Sh18.5 million when the former Premier's finances were low.
According to Duale, from 2005 to 2009, Raila would sleep in Nomad Hotel during his trips to Garissa, indicating that Raila was struggling financially at the time.
Raila had previously stated that he groomed Duale's political career, saying that he introduced Duale to a group of renowned elders in Garissa Town and prevailed upon them to support Duale for the Dujis constituency parliamentary seat.
