A photograph of Deputy President William Ruto standing while President Uhuru Kenyatta addressed a gathering in Bomet County has sparked discussion. The image shows DP Ruto and his supporters remaining standing as other dignitaries, including Governors Isaac Ruto and Prof Chepkwony, took their seats.
According to the report, DP Ruto and his loyalists stood to demonstrate loyalty and respect to President Uhuru Kenyatta, possibly to pressure Governor Isaac Ruto. During the meeting, DP Ruto stated that he was satisfied with his position in the government and would not push for more appointments of members from his community to senior jobs.
Other leaders, including Hon Musalia Mudavadi, Gideon Moi, and Eugene Wamalwa, reportedly laughed at the sight of DP Ruto standing to make a point.
