Uhuru-Ruto Bromance Exposed ¶
President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto's close relationship has been called into question by Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi.
According to Sudi, the two Jubilee leaders are not as close as they seem, and their public display of unity is nothing but a facade.
Speaking on his official Facebook platform, Sudi stated, "Let Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto continue faking their 'good' relationship. We are not fools. God is watching all this."
"Let Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto continue faking their 'good' relationship. We are not fools. God is watching all this," said Mr Sudi in a social media post. Sudi's statement comes as the arrest and prosecution of Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich, Principal Secretary Kamau Thugge, and East African Community counterpart Susan Koech over the Kimwarer and Arror dams graft saga continues. The lawmaker claims that members of the Rift Valley community serving in top government positions, who are believed to be allied to DP Ruto, are being targeted in the anti-graft purge, which he claims is being selectively spearheaded by President Kenyatta's faction. "For the record, a jetty worth Ksh.1.9B was constructed and commissioned by President Uhuru Kenyatta. How the jetty was built and commissioned after stealing of the whole amount of the project money is mind-boggling," said Mr Sudi. He further accused President Kenyatta's wing of insincerity in the fight against graft, stating that the State "protects wrong-doers affiliated to President Kenyatta", but "moves fast to persecute leaders allied to DP Ruto". "I have asked President Uhuru Kenyatta several times about Ruaraka land scandal but no one has responded to me yet. Kenyans need to know why CS Matiang'i and his PS Belio Kipsang have not been prosecuted yet the court made a ruling that the [Ksh1.5 billion] payment [to businessman Francis Mburu] was irregular," said Mr Sudi. He also questioned why leaders allied to DP Ruto are being targeted, while those affiliated to President Kenyatta are being protected.
