Nigerian governor Adams Oshiomhole, 63, and his 36-year-old wife Lara have been a trending topic on social media.
Following their wedding and thanksgiving ceremony at the Immaculate Conception cathedral, the governor addressed comments about his wife.
According to Governor Oshiomhole, his wife is not a model, despite her physical appearance. He stated:
The lady that God has directed to my path and heart to marry is not and was not a model. Of course, she looks beautiful and I understand that is why people assume that this kind of a lady must be a model but of course, she is a model in my heart and we hope and pray that we will be models in the heart of our God and I think that is the most important thing.
The governor also made a personal revelation about his relationship with his wife, saying:
I can boldly say to you all that I was the first man to know her (Lara Fortes) and initiated her into the worldly ways. This is the kind of spirit I want Edo youths to inculcate, instead of messing around and engaging in different shades of adultery and fornication.
