Laura Oyier Ogolla, who gained national attention for failing to pay a six-figure hotel bill, has been fired by Radio Africa Group due to non-performance, according to Nairobi News.
Well-placed sources at the media house, based in Westlands, Nairobi, confirmed the development.
A source from the media house told Nairobi News, "She has a raw talent, but she is not willing to harness it or learn. Her unprofessionalism, including coming to work late and contributing very little, has been a problem."
Laura Oyier Ogolla was hired by Radio Africa Group after Nairobi News reported on her plight at Milimani Courts, where she faced issues due to non-payment of her bills at Inter-Continental Hotel, Nairobi. The media house cleared her bill of Sh 229,505 and enrolled her in a training program as a radio presenter.
However, her stint as a radio presenter proved unsuccessful, and she was later transferred to the company's digital team, where she also struggled to settle in and contribute.
There are reports that Laura has left without paying several bills, including one for a taxi. It is unclear where she will go next, although there are rumors of a branding rights deal with a water company.
