Bungoma Governor Ken Lusaka has stated that three soldiers from his county were among those who died in Somalia. This comes after an ambush on a Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) camp on the morning of Friday, January 15.

Al-Shabaab Claims

Al-Shabaab has claimed responsibility for the attack, stating that they killed 100 Kenyan soldiers. However, the government has not released the full number of KDF officers who died in the incident.
