A student from Egerton University shared a personal and tragic story about his experience during the Garissa University attack. He had visited his four-month pregnant girlfriend, Trizah, who was a third-year student at Garissa University, and witnessed her death at the hands of Al-Shabaab terrorists.
According to the student, he and Trizah had spent the evening together in her room, and at around 4am, they heard gunshots. Initially, they thought it was the Kenyan Defense Forces shooting in the air, but soon realized that the university was under attack.
As they tried to take cover, a bullet hit the door, and Trizah was shot in the thorax. The student, who was trembling with fear, quickly got under the bed, where he witnessed the horrific scene of his girlfriend succumbing to death.
The attacker then pointed the muzzle at Trizah's head and shot her again, killing her instantly. The student fainted and was later found in the hospital, traumatized by the experience.
The student wrote that Trizah and their unborn child remained in his heart, and he hoped to meet them again one day.
