Kate Middleton has taken new photos of her children, newborn baby Princess Charlotte and big brother Prince George, which have been shared by Kensington Palace.
The photos, released on Saturday, show George, 22 months, holding and kissing his baby sister. They mark the first official images of Princess Charlotte and the first photos taken of her in more than a month.
Princess Charlotte was born at St. Mary’s Hospital in London on May 2. After her birth, her parents, Kate and Prince William, appeared with her outside the hospital, where she was seen by reporters and photographers. Prince George was also last photographed on the same day when his father brought him to the hospital to visit his mother and new baby sister.
In the new photos, Prince George is dressed in a white collared shirt with blue trimming, blue shorts, and matching socks, and black shoes. He is shown holding and looking at baby Charlotte, who wears a cozy white sweater onesie with a frilly collar and sits on his lap, nestled between him and a white pillow.
According to the photos, Princess Charlotte currently has blue eyes and dark blond hair.
Kensington Palace stated that the Duchess of Cambridge took the photos in mid-May at Anmer Hall, her and Prince William’s home at Queen Elizabeth II’s Sandringham estate in Norfolk, England.
The photos were shared about a month before Princess Charlotte’s christening, which is set to take place at St. Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham, conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby. This is the same church where Princess Diana, Prince William’s late mother, was baptized.
Archbishop Justin Welby said in a statement, "I am delighted to be invited to conduct the baptism of HRH Princess Charlotte. It will be an extraordinary honor and privilege to help welcome the Princess into the family of the church. Along with her parents and all her family, I look forward to joining in this joyful day of celebration and thanksgiving."
