A statement by Dennis Itumbi says that Principal Secretary for Interior Karanja Kibicho will receive 28 police officers who were injured during the riots in Kisumu at Wilson Airport.

According to Itumbi, the reception is scheduled to take place at 5 pm. However, it is unclear how many officers were injured and by whom. Additionally, there is no information on whether the three unarmed demonstrators who were killed will be given similar recognition by a high-ranking government official.

Reactions to the Announcement

Some individuals have expressed their opinions on Itumbi's post. Onyango Jr. questioned the decision, asking about the reception for the three civilians who were killed. Michael Okoth inquired about who would be receiving the dead bodies of those killed in Siaya and Kisumu.

Douglas Dmx criticized the announcement, stating that people died and the focus should not be on injuries. Mukuru Wa Kimeruu Machumaa argued that the event was a demonstration, not a riot, and that propaganda would not stop their efforts to protest until the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is gone.

Other commenters, including Frank Musundi, Johnwill K Mabinda, Liz Queen, and Ken Ambula, shared their thoughts on the matter, with some expressing skepticism about the official narrative and others criticizing the use of live bullets against protesters.
