A national organization for employers is seeking a dynamic and results-driven professional to fill the position of Public Relations and Communications Officer.
The successful candidate will report to the Manager, Public Relations and Communications, and support the implementation of the PR and Communications strategy to promote the image of the Federation.
Key Responsibilities ¶
- Implement the internal and external communication strategy
- Support the organisation’s advocacy and lobbying activities and communication
- Prepare and place press releases and print advertisements, facilitate media monitoring
- Prepare announcements, including news releases, newsletters and news shots.
- Work with line managers to develop website content including regular updates of the web pages and addition of links to/from the site.
- Edit and arrange for production of corporate communication tools (annual report, communication kit, brochures, banners, newsletters, e-shots and other brand standards).
- Collect corporate communication items of different departments and ensure that they are communicated through the right channels
- Edit and produce speaker support presentation materials (print and PowerPoint) for seminars and speeches.
- Execute events to promote public relations and corporate image
- Maintain the organisations Federation’s clippings and historical files.
- Support the implementation of the communications/ marketing plan for the organisation, its products and services.
- Design the graphic needs or coordinate with external designers, agencies and vendors.
Requirements ¶
- Degree in Languages/Linguistics/ Literature or Mass Communication
- Post Graduate Diploma in Public Relations
- At least 3 years working experience in public relations and communication
- Must be proficient in Ms Office Suite of packages
- Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good report writing skills
