With the national Term Two games set to begin next week in Kisumu, Nyakach Girls, the Nyanza Region Secondary schools netball champions, are gearing up for a memorable second consecutive appearance.

Having lost to Kaya Tiwi Girls 29-46 in last year's netball national finals, head coach Sally Keta is confident that the in-form girls will improve from their last year's performances.

Speaking to the media, Keta expressed her team's determination to secure their ticket to the East Africa games for the second year running, especially since the games are being hosted in their county.

"We are anticipating a few minor adjustments and no big personnel changes as we look to rebound from last year's disappointment," Keta said. "It was our first time at the nationals, and seeing the girls perform so well in their debut year was amazing."

"The girls are passionate and enjoy winning. We hope to continue with the stellar performances we had during the county and regional games. Our eyes are fixed on the national title," she added.

However, Keta also urged her girls to remain cautious and disciplined, as other teams will be out to stop them after their last year's exploits.

The Kisumu County champions are in a tricky pool B and will have to go past Western's Bukokholo Girls, Eastern's Syumile, and Rift Valley champions Cheptil Girls to reach the last four.
