A Standard Six student at Kiserian Primary School died after being punished by a teacher for failing to bring tuition money.
The 11-year-old girl was taken to Kenyatta National Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police intervened to rescue the teacher from an angry mob, and an investigation into the incident has been launched.
