Last Saturday, an incident occurred at a private residence in Riara, where a party was being held. According to reports, Kim Mwele, a student from Denmark who is currently in the country for a holiday, caused a disturbance after allegedly drinking excessively and insulting other partygoers.
When asked to leave by the management, Mwele allegedly turned violent, targeting other revelers. A 23-year-old woman was reportedly beaten by Mwele until she collapsed. Her friend attempted to intervene but was also assaulted by Mwele before other partygoers stepped in to stop him.
Consequences and Response ¶
The two women who were allegedly assaulted by Mwele reported the incident to Milimani Police Station under OB Number OB/26/12/2015. However, despite this, Mwele has not been arrested. One of the victims was admitted to Nairobi Hospital due to deep tissue injuries sustained during the assault.
Mwele has been quoted as saying,
"I am rich, I study and live in Copenhagen. Ya’ll can’t do shi about nothing…"
He has also claimed to have connections with powerful government officials, which he believes will protect him from facing any consequences for his actions.
