On July 24, 2019, a powerful moment of determination and perseverance was captured on video at a NubAbility Athletics Foundation camp. The non-profit organization, which provides opportunities for limb-different youth in sports, was founded by Sam Kuhnert.
At the camp, a young man named Tim, a double arm amputee, was attempting a 20-inch box jump. With the encouragement of his coaches, Tim stalled on his first attempts, intimidated by the height of the platform. However, after being urged on by a coach, Tim kept trying, eventually landing the jump to the cheers of his coaches and the stunned relief of the young athlete.
As Twitter user Brad Vinyard posted, 'My favorite moment from Nubability Camp. Tim overcoming his fears and self-doubt and landing a 20” box jump. If you have not heard of Nubability Athletics and its founder, Sam Kuhnert, check them out.' Founder Kuhnert chimed in on the comments to note that Tim has been going to the camp since he was young, demonstrating the hard work and dedication that has led to his success.
