Popular comedian Churchill has faced backlash on social media over the content of his shows Churchill Show and Churchill Raw, aired on NTV. Recently, he hosted Victor Kanyari, a self-proclaimed pastor, who was mocked for bragging about his wealth acquired from allegedly conning followers.
Payment for Churchill's Shows ¶
Despite criticism, Churchill receives a significant payment from NTV. He is paid Ksh 1.2 Million per episode of Churchill Show and Churchill Raw, totaling Ksh 2.4 Million per week for the two shows.
In contrast, comedians working on his shows are paid much less. Some receive as little as Ksh 1,000. Many of these upcoming comedians live in slums and struggle financially, while Churchill leads a more affluent lifestyle.
