In a letter dated February 25, 2015, addressed to the Speaker of the Kenya National Assembly, Ababu Namwamba expressed concerns over integrity and ethical issues within the Public Accounts Committee (PAC).
Namwamba stated that he had previously briefed the Speaker on the matter in a meeting on February 18, 2015. During this meeting, they agreed that the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) should investigate allegations of impropriety against certain committee members.
However, when the Speaker attended a subsequent PAC meeting on the same day, some members opposed Namwamba's motion to invite the EACC to investigate the allegations.
