Mourners at a graveside in South Africa witnessed a disturbing scene on Sunday, December 3, when a young man began digging up a nearby grave.

The incident occurred at the Redhill Cemetery in Durban. Despite the presence of others, the man continued to dig until he pulled out the coffin, then dug deeper before finally returning the coffin to the grave.

Onlookers alerted security guards, who instructed the man to stop. According to Daily Sun, when questioned about his actions, the man claimed he was checking on his mother, who had been buried over the weekend, to see if she was still in good condition.

He also stated that he was preparing the grave for the next family member to be buried on top of his mother's coffin. A witness described the scene as shocking and expressed concern about the man's mental state.

A family member later explained that the man had been sent to check if the concrete had dried, following the burial of their mother the previous Saturday. The family member acknowledged that the man's actions were against cemetery by-laws but noted that he was released with a warning.

Kiss 100 presenters Kalekye Mumo and Shaffie Weru shared their thoughts on the incident. Kalekye Mumo expressed sadness and concern, suggesting that the man needed to be investigated. Shaffie Weru commented on the unusual nature of the man's actions.

The Redhill Cemetery in Durban, South Africa, was the site of this unusual incident.

The recovered account cited reporting by Mpasho.
