Heavy Bails Set for Officials in Kerio Dams Case

On July 23, 2019, Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich and Principal Secretary Kamau Thugge were released on bail in the Kerio dams case.

As part of their bail conditions, Mr Rotich and Mr Thugge were required to post a Sh15 million cash bail or Sh50 million bond with surety.

The two officials are among more than 10 others who were charged with multiple counts, including abuse of office, conspiracy to commit an economic crime, and approving payment contrary to the law.
