According to data compiled as of April 29th, 2015, several African presidents maintain an active presence on social media platforms.

Leading Figures

Paul Kagame, the President of Rwanda, is noted for his interactivity on Twitter and has a significant following. Uhuru Kenyatta, President of Kenya, also has a substantial number of followers on Twitter.

Regional Engagement

Moncef Marzouki, the former Tunisian Head of State, was highly active on Twitter, albeit exclusively in Arabic. In sub-Saharan Africa, Goodluck Jonathan, the former President of Nigeria, held a position of prominence in terms of online popularity.
