A prophet in Zimbabwe, known as Madzibaba Noah, has a requirement for women visiting his shrine: they must remove their shoes and underwear before entering. According to the account, women who attend his shrine often leave their homes without wearing undergarments.
Madzibaba Noah defends his practices, stating that those who question him have corrupt minds. He says, "At the same time you will discover that only people with corrupt minds start making noise otherwise this is for a good cause"
One member of the shrine shared her initial hesitation due to the rules, saying: "At first I was afraid to come to the shrine after hearing that one should take off her shoes and underwear. Since I had serious problems in my marriage I was left with no choice, but when I got here I discovered that madzibaba does not even touch you during prayers."
Another member described a ritual where the prophet instructs them to put their hands in a dish of water before solving their problems. Additionally, women who are menstruating are advised not to visit the shrine during their period, as it might interfere with the blessing, according to Madzimai Esther, Noah’s assistant. She explains: "If a woman on monthly periods comes to the shrine, she disturbs Madzibaba Noah’s praying power."
Notably, Madzibaba Noah specializes in addressing marital issues and only attends to female clients.
