A court appearance has been made by two individuals, Mr Nicholas Chege Mwangi and Meshack Mburu Mwangi, who are the driver and conductor of a matatu operating on route 44. The vehicle has been impounded following a viral video clip that appears to show a female passenger being sexually assaulted and robbed inside the matatu.
The two men appeared in court on November 28, 2014, and are expected to face charges related to the incident after 21 days.
