Nairobi Governor Dr. Evans Kidero has expressed his commitment to the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) following a Supreme Court ruling upholding his election.

Speaking to CORD supporters in Nairobi, Kidero stated that he is in ODM and CORD for life. He also acknowledged being used by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy, William Ruto, to undermine CORD from within, but asserted that he will not repeat this action.

Kidero explained that his previous collaboration with Uhuru and Ruto was motivated by his court case with Ferdinand Waititu, but now that the case has concluded, he is eager to work with CORD with renewed energy and dedication.

Furthermore, Kidero pledged his support for Raila Odinga's referendum initiative, committing to collect 5 million signatures and mobilize support for the referendum. This announcement comes after Kidero had earlier expressed reservations about the referendum, suggesting that the country was not ready for it and that alternative legal frameworks could address CORD's concerns.

The shift in Kidero's stance reportedly caught Uhuru and Ruto off guard, leaving them surprised by his newfound allegiance to CORD.
