Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma believes criticism of the club's playing style stems from jealousy of their success in the Premier League this season.
Following a 0-0 draw with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, where home supporters chanted "boring, boring Chelsea," manager Jose Mourinho responded to critics by saying they want "football on the moon, with no goals."
Zouma echoed his manager's sentiments, stating, "Other fans are jealous because their team is not top of the league and they want to be top of the league like everyone wants to; that's normal," in an interview with Sky Sports.
"Everyone wants to beat you so for us we have to be concentrated and be focused. The most important thing is that we keep going and keep winning points," he added.
Zouma dismissed suggestions that Chelsea's style is boring, saying, "I don't like suggestions we're boring but supporters can say what they want, we just have to play our game." He noted that the team plays more defensively due to the high stakes, explaining, "We know that everybody wants to beat us and we are focused on only the points."
With the league title within reach, Zouma emphasized the team's determination: "There's a target for everybody, we are almost there. We have to win the two next matches. We are very determined – all season we've worked very hard to win this league."
